Our culture loves technology and jumps at the chance to always have the latest innovations. Even technology that was considered “new” a couple of years ago now seems antiquated. Because our technology improves so rapidly, there is a major problem that needs to be addressed: e-waste.
There are millions of unwanted CRT monitors, VCRs, video games, and other obsolete gadgets that need to be recycled. These electronics contain toxic substances, like lead and copper, that are harmful to the environment, and it’s critical that we recycle them.
Newegg is committed to increasing awareness about recycling consumer electronics. Our trade-in program has been in place since 2010 and allows our customers to declutter their home while earning Newegg Gift Cards so they can have the latest technology. The average trade only takes about five minutes and most customers earn over $60 in gift cards. As easy as this is, we’re making it even easier this weekend with our Newegg Revolve Hybrid Center event.
“The average American household contains more than $3,000 worth of unused items, and we believe it’s important to make recycling used tech easy and rewarding for our customers. Our Newegg Revolve event gives people an easy way to recycle their used electronics, with the extra incentive of bonus discounts for new purchases made when recycling their old tech.”
–Soren Mills, Chief Marketing Officer of Newegg North America.
Newegg Revolve will be held at the Newegg City of Industry Hybrid Center tomorrow, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will accept notebooks, tablets, phones, digital cameras, video games, and video game consoles.
