1. NES USB Controller

This plug-n-play USB controller looks just like the classic NES controller! It features an eight-way directional pad and four digital buttons. It works with both PC and Mac for plenty of old school gaming fun!

3. 1 GB Mix Tape Memory Stick

Remember the days before digital music and MP3 players? If you do then you probably made compilations of all your favorite music to share with your friends and loved ones on good old fashioned blank cassette tapes. With this 1GB Mix Tape Memory Stick, you can store up to 900 minutes of quality digital music – perfect for creating your own unique compilation of songs for friends.

4. iHome Portable FM Stereo Boombox for iPhone/iPod

5. Pyle PRT15I Retro Home Telephone for iPhone/Android/Blackberry

When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone he would’ve never imaged how far his creation would have come. The Pyle PRT15I is a telephone designed with the styling of the early 20th century with the future in mind. The handcrafted wooden body and brushed copper accents give this piece an authentic feel. This phone may look like an antique rotary but it’s been updated to work with the latest mobile smartphones on the market today!

Digital media, including videos, music, and photos, is everywhere. Storing all this media on your PC or Mac is no problem, but what about tablets and smartphones? Many people have more media than their mobile devices can hold.

Corsair designed Voyager Air to be the perfect storage device for this new, mobile world. Voyager Air is an all-in-one network drive (Network Attached Storage), portable wireless drive, USB drive, and wireless hub that lets you consolidate all your digital media, and enjoy it anytime and anywhere.

It’s a network drive (NAS)

Corsair Voyager Air External Hard Drive

Voyager Air was designed to be useful at home – an environment where other wireless drives often fall short. With a high-speed Gigabit Ethernet port, the Voyager Air plugs into your home router, and works as shared network storage for all your desktop and notebook computers. With Voyager Air on your home network, it’s easy to consolidate and share digital media.

It’s a portable wireless drive

Voyager Air was also designed for mobility. The drive has a high-capacity rechargeable battery and built-in Wi-Fi, so it’s easy to take with you anywhere you go. Just connect to it from your tablet or smartphone as you would connect to a wireless network, and then use the free Voyager Air app to access the drive. The battery provides up to seven hours of video streaming, and it’s easy to recharge via AC, USB, or the included 2A car adapter.

As multi-user drive, Voyager Air is capable of streaming different HD video on up to five devices at the same time. If you’re in an area with public Wi-Fi, like a coffee shop or hotel, you can configure it using Wi-Fi Passthru to act as a wireless hub, providing Internet access to all your devices.

It’s a USB drive

Connect it directly to a PC or Mac with the included USB cable and it works just like any other portable drive. It works with Windows by default, and can be easily reformatted for Mac compatibility.

Works with PCs and Macs, and Apple and Android devices

Voyager Air works with Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Mac OS 9, and Mac OS X. The iOS mobile app is compatible with iOS 5.1 and higher. And the Android app works on tablets and smartphones running Android 2.3.3 and higher.

Take a look at this video below from Newegg TV for more information about the Voyager Air:

If you remember the adventures of Michael Knight and his futuristic car Kitt from TV’s “Knight Rider,” you may have always dreamt of outfitting your wheels with the latest gadgets. You may not be able to get your car to talk to you, or make that cool “woosh” sound, but if your car is more than just a means of getting from “A” to “B,” you may want to consider adding one of these gadgets to your ride.

Under the radar
Most people would probably agree that driving safely should be motorists’ top priority, but there are few things more annoying than getting a speeding ticket for going a few miles over the limit. To avoid incurring sometimes-heavy fines, a radar detector is an invaluable investment. These devices range in price from relatively inexpensive models like the Whistler XTR-130 Laser/Radar Detector to high-end devices such as the Cobra XRS-9970G 15 Band Camera Laser/Radar Detector. Most radar detectors can be mounted directly on your car’s dashboard or windshield, providing you with real-time responses to upcoming speed cameras and radar detectors. Whichever device you choose, be sure to drive responsibly.

Rocking out
Few things compare to hitting the highway on a road trip, but no long drive is complete without the perfect soundtrack. Whether you’re a John Denver fan or prefer Japanese techno, you’ll need a decent sound system in your car to really savor every note. If you’ve ever found yourself craving deeper bass when you’re rocking out in the car, why not install an amplifier in your trunk? Newegg.com has a range of models designed to suit any budget, from the 800W Power Acoustik BAMF802 Amplifier to the Kicker 11ZX700.5-N Amplifier. Before your next road trip, consider investing in a sound system that will do your favorite tunes justice.

Video killed the radio star
If you’ve got kids, you might know how challenging long car rides can be. If this is the case, installing an in-car video system is an excellent way to keep the little ones entertained on your next trip. Vehicle DVD players and ceiling-mounted TVs used to cost an arm and a leg, but today, you can pick up a vehicle video setup for less than $100. The Pyle PLHR79 Monitor offers outstanding value for money, and boasts a 7-inch screen, headrest mounting bracket and a screen resolution of 1440 x 234. Alternatively, the Power Acoustik PMD105CM offers a larger screen, remote control and a true 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio for superior in-car entertainment.

What other gadgets do you recommend for pimping out your ride?

Transporter has proven to be a disruptive technology in the storage world since they launched last month. The Social Storage Drive is able to provide all the global access and sharing capabilities of standard cloud providers, but without the recurring fees and capacity limitations. Most importantly, it is completely private since data is never stored on shared central servers and always encrypted during transit.

Transporter is now available for order, but here’s a quick look at its features.

Social Storage

Connected Data TransporterGen1 Social Storage Drive

What makes Transporter truly unique is the ability to communicate and share files in a peer-to-peer fashion with computers and other Transporter devices located anywhere in the world. This ability eliminates privacy concerns, recurring fees, and all complexity associated with syncing files over the Internet. In other words, a storage solution finally designed to match modern, social lifestyles.

Global Access

We’ve all been in situations where we needed to access a file remotely. All files stored on Transporter devices are available anywhere in the world from any computer or mobile device that has access to the Internet through the free Connected Data App. You can also sync specific files on your computer so they’re available even while you’re offline.

100 Percent Private

Most cloud solutions store your files on shared servers and have terms allowing the service provider to access, distribute and delete your files at any time. Transporter is a product you own and control, with all files stored directly on the device and only shared amongst people you authorize. Anytime a file is shared or accessed on your Transporter, all information is transferred directly from the device and is always encrypted during transit.

Automated Offsite Backup

Keep one transporter at work and another at home. You can even share amongst coworkers or friends. By sharing folders you maintain a two-way automated offsite backup at no additional cost.

Simple Setup

Getting started is easy. Just add a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive of your choice (up to 2TB per unit), connect the Transporter to your network, and set up your free Transporter account using your favorite browser. To share files, simply send an invitation to the people with whom you want to share, and that’s it.

Transporter is able to address the security issues of cloud providers, by developing a completely private way to share, store and protect unlimited amounts of data with no recurring fees. Never again would you need to worry about lugging around an external hard drive or getting copies offsite since everything is done automatically and instantaneously on the Transporter.

Take a look at this video below from Newegg TV for another look at the Transporter!

How do you currently backup all your files?

About the Guest Author: Connected Data was founded in 2011 by four friends (Geoff Barrall, David Mendelson, John Turner, and John Winfield) who were frustrated that there was no way to easily share large files. We set out to create a hardware solution that would make sharing with others as easy as accessing your own files.

How often do you see people with headphones in? Technology has made it easier to listen to your favorite songs no matter where you are. MP3 players have become a standard device for most consumers, whether they want to bring their music to the gym, workplace or anywhere in between. In recent years, manufacturers have been adding new features so the gadgets can do much more than play music.

iPod Touch
Apple’s MP3 players are fan favorites, but the iPod Touch offers the most features and functionality. The device does everything an iPhone can aside from making phone calls. Users can download apps, play games and connect to Wi-Fi networks and surf the web while they sing along to their music.

The most up-to-date iPod Touch models have rear-facing cameras that can record videos and take pictures, though the image quality isn’t as clear as it is on a smartphone. There are no data plans available for the MP3 players either, so consumers can’t go online without a Wi-Fi connection.

Zune HD
Microsoft discontinued their line of music devices, but there are still plenty of models available. Zune HDs are very similar to iPod Touches, except they lack cameras and use the Windows Marketplace – so there aren’t as many available apps.

Consumers can subscribe to Microsoft’s streaming service so that they don’t even have to download songs. Zune HDs have 16:9 resolution screens, giving the devices the same video quality as high definition televisions – only on a smaller scale.

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2
For Android loyalists, there are MP3 players available that run on the mobile OS, and the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 is one of the best. Unlike other mobile media hubs, these devices have a front-facing camera for video calls through applications like Skype and Google Hangout. Samsung has also included microSD slots so consumers are able to expand the memory of their gadget.

However, the Galaxy Player lags behind the competition when it comes to playing music. The website found that the device keeps audio to low levels, so users have to increase the volume to clearly hear their music.

For various reasons, all of these MP3 players have become popular choices for consumers who want to do more than listen to music while on the go. What do you look for in an MP3 player? Do you look purely for a music player, or do you look for a multi-functional device?

Just because you can’t make it to the actual game, doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate with your friends and enjoy all of the fun. Watching the game at home can be an amazing experience if you have the right supplies. If you’re hosting a Super Bowl party this year, consider stocking up on all of the necessities at Newegg.com.

Here are the must-have items for your Super Bowl party:

HDTV – You’ve been thinking about upgrading your television for a while, so when is there ever going to be a better time than now? Imagine how amazing it would be to watch every detail in stunning high definition on your new HDTV. You and your friends will feel like you’re at the game, while remaining warm and cozy at home.

Home audio – Once you have the new HDTV, you can’t forget about outstanding audio output. Remember how loud your buddies get when the pass is dropped or the touchdown is scored? Consider how frustrating it will be if you can’t hear the game over the party. A new home audio system is definitely a must.

Indoor grill – Freezing February temperatures doesn’t have to stop you from grilling up the football requirements like juicy hamburgers and hotdogs. Surprise everyone at your party with an indoor grill to cook up everybody’s favorite BBQ foods.

Digital camera – Last but not least, capture all of the party’s good times and memories with a new digital camera. You can’t relive a celebration like this, so don’t miss a moment of it. Plus, a digital camera is something you will use all year long at events to come.

Thanksgiving traditions may include activities, such as watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, throwing the football with cousins, making pumpkin pie and perhaps most importantly – scouring over the papers for the best Black Friday deals.

Millions of Americans partake in the Black Friday madness every year, looking for that newest craze at a bargain. While the trends and the sales differ from year to year, what seems to be a constant is the fact that most people are out to find electronics. The hype and excitement of Black Friday and Cyber Monday are usually centered around finding the best TV, laptop or camera deal – and research indicates that Black Friday 2011 was no different.

According to a survey conducted by BIGresearch for the National Retail Federation, more than 48 percent of the shoppers that participated in Black Friday this year bought an electronic or electronic related item. Furthermore, the average shopper spent $246 on electronics, which is a six percent increase from last year. The electronics industry experienced 50 percent more shoppers than businesses that deal toys.

Some of the most popular electronics sold on Black Friday included digital cameras, TVs, laptops, netbooks, tablet computers, MP3 players and e-readers. However, the most popular electronic items sold were video game consoles, according to the National Retail Federation.

Did you partake in the Black Friday “Mall Madness” this year? If so, what did you buy?

It appears more people are opting to shop online rather than make trips to the store in 2011, according to the latest comScore research. According to the study, ecommerce spending in the United States during the first quarter reached $38 billion, increasing 12 percent from the first quarter of 2010. The increased spending also represents the sixth consecutive quarter of growth and the second consecutive double-digit increase.

A major reason for the increase in online spending is high oil prices, making shopping from home less expensive than traveling to stores and shopping malls. Consumers are also taking full advantage of online retailers’ lower prices, nearly doubling the amount of money spent for offline retailers, said comScore chairman Gian Fulgoni. If oil prices decrease, the ecommerce market may slip a little, but online shopping has become a staple for U.S. consumers by offering convenience and competitive prices.

The categories that excelled the most during the quarter included video games, consoles and accessories, books and magazines, computers, consumer electronics and computer software. According to the report, the top categories each grew at least 13 percent in the quarter compared to 2010’s first quarter.

“Domestic retail ecommerce built on the success of a strong 2010 holiday season with another encouraging quarter here in the first three months of the year,” said Fulgoni.

As more people adopt smartphones, making online purchases through mobile devices is also becoming more prevalent. According to a study by eDigitalResearch and Portaltech, 28 percent of smartphone owners use their devices to find product information on a regular basis, while half of all owners have made at least one purchase through their device in the past nine months.

With oil prices continuing to be stubborn, it’s the perfect opportunity to hop on your computer or smartphone and start shopping at Newegg.com for all of your needs. If you are wary about upgrading to newer electronics, Newegg has a buy back program for your old devices.

For consumers, technology is among the most frustrating markets to make purchases in. Products are constantly being updated or released, making those fancy devices you just bought obsolete. It’s a frustrating predicament to be in, but Newegg offers a program that can get you out of this rut.

If you are contemplating buying whichever new device recently hit the market, trade in your old electronics and Newegg will send back a gift card for a future purchase. The process is simple: fill out a few questions to receive an online estimate and then ship the device. Free shipping and packaging are available for qualified boxes.

Newegg not only sends you a gift card for your older electronics, but it also tries to sell them to other customers or recycles the items. If the transaction is unsatisfactory in any way, Newegg will ship the item back to you free of charge. On average, customers who participate in the buy back program earn $100 toward a new purchase.

Stop letting your old devices sit around collecting dust and start earning money for that new HD-TV, smartphone or tablet was just released. You can learn more about our Earth Day and recycling outreach in our previous post.

With Mother’s Day approaching, trying to decide on the perfect gift is never easy. However, Newegg.com offers a section specifically devoted to the big day.

Not every mother is up to date on the latest and greatest technology trends, but if she has a rooting interest in something, chances are there is a product that will enhance her hobby. If she loves to read books, an ereader would be the perfect choice, allowing her to store hundreds, even thousands of books in a simple and compact device.

While keeping family memories around the house in frames is definitely normal, even by today’s tech standards, a digital photo frame can allow her to store so many more photos and not use up as much space.

If your mother is still watching television shows on that old tube-TV, it’s probably time to switch over to high-definition screen. It may seem surreal watching her favorite soap operas or home and garden shows, but it truly is an experience she will enjoy.

Don’t miss out on any of the great deals at Newegg.com. You don’t want to be rushing around at the last minute trying to find the perfect gift at a store when its only a few clicks away.
